Colby Doler has been selected as a "Person to Watch in Entertainment" for 2024 by the Shreveport Times.
Per the Shreveport Times:
Colby "J.C." Doler
J.C. Doler was born in the late 80s in Atlanta, Georgia. Over the past 35 years, Doler has edited and directed numerous films including [the] short film War Paint, [and feature films] Cabin Girl and Room 203.
Doler moved to the Shreveport-Bossier area in 2015. He said, "as soon as we decided to call Shreveport-Bossier home in 2015, my wife and I were welcomed with open arms."
He continued by saying, "with the incredible support, talent and determination of this community of artists and entertainers, we have become a family of friends and colleagues that work together to regrow, rebuild and expand the film industry in this region."
Over the past decade, Doler has expanded his network of colleagues, gained invaluable skills through hands-on experience and has worn many hats as a filmmaker.
Doler said, "I found success and accolades here and it has taken me further than I ever thought I would go. That is why I hope to continue to develop and pull productions to this region and return the opportunities that this community has so abundantly given me."
In response to his selection, Colby states:
I am thankful and humbled to be recognized in my community. I've never thought of myself as a leader, just an artist who gets to work with his friends and make movies. But my dreams have literally come true because of the opportunities I have been given here and I hope I can return that opportunity tenfold.
To say that moving to Shreveport/Bossier has changed my life feels like an understatement. That leap of faith has created a ripple of change that has grown into a tidal wave and I could not be more proud to be a member of this community.
I would not hesitate to put the talents and skills of our casts and crews against the best of New Orleans, Los Angeles and beyond. We have world class creatives right here in Shreveport/Bossier and we deserve to have world class film productions bringing jobs and living wages into our community. We love living here because of the community, because of the potential this region has to make an impact in Hollywood and to become a mecca of independent filmmaking.
I am so proud to call myself a Shreveporter and look forward to seeing where the next film takes us!
Colby looks forward to releasing his feature film directorial debut "The Fetch" in 2024, filmed locally in Shreveport/Bossier.
